The Yost Vises V-275 is a portable 2-3/4-Inch Jaw Width Vise. This vise features a vacuum base that allows it to mount to a variety of smooth work surfaces (laminates, steel, granite, glass). The vacuum seal for mounting will only work with wood or other grained surfaces. The vise head swivels 360-Degree and can pivot 90-Degrees. This allows you to work on multiple angles of small part without removing the part from the vise jaws. Soft vise jaws are included for holding parts without marring. Body parts are precision die cast. Vacuum base is operated with steel lever to actuate vacuum. For optimal vacuum operation the rubber base should be cleaned regularly to remove dust and other debris. A few drops of water can be added to the base for the best vacuum holding force.

Customers say
Customers like the functionality, build quality, and value of the hardware clamp vise. They mention it works well, is sturdy, and a great buy for the money. Some also appreciate its mobility, rotation feature, and weight-holding ability. However, some customers have reported issues with the suction cup and disagree on its ease of use.

Great product
Well I canât say enough about this Vice I used on holding my upper ar receiver, my slides on my handguns, I even used to pound the ducktail sights on my handgun works perfect, and the biggest upside to this vice is u can move it and attached to all kinds of surfaces and never moved while using. Note after a while the suctions does loose it grip just sitting there by itself, so you want to check it to make sure your grip suction is still there

Good enough
Vice works and is a great bargain for the price. It was shipped to me in less than a week, even showed up a day early. Works wonderful, the only drawback is the bottom attaches via suction cup not clamp. Which means you need a smooth table to adhere to or use items that are like her than device. However for the price and shipping time this is a wonderful deal for anyone who needs to work now.

Good quality vise if assembled correctly
I had a previous manufacturer’s vise for the last 20 years and the suction finally gave out. This unit looked to me as the best replacement. Unfortunately, the parts were fine but not the assembly. The ball stem had not been screwed in place so that the jaws would wiggle and wobble when everything was tightened. The result was I had to take the vise apart and tighten the loose screw to eliminate the wiggle. It now works perfectly and I will keep it. Just never should have happened if your quality control people were awake on the job.Hence 3 stars

the suction plate does not work
The vice, as received, would not stick on any surface. There was no suction. I tried to wash it, used different surfaces, all of which were smooth, and finally tried a cutting board. Nothing would allow it to be held in place with the base. While the vice part worked just fine that unit, as received, cannot be used as there is no way to hold it in place while workingI will be sending it back and looking for an alternative…

Great little vise!
I mainly use it to hold locks when I practice picking, but it would work great for just about anything!

Suction defective. Head mount has 3/8″ of slop all directions !
REPAIR REVISION ! I repaired the sloppy head mounting with inserting a 3cent M4 washer between the uproght hex bar, and the plate/ bolt assy. ( 5min ) The suction inoperative was caused by a bit of Casting Flash missed at the Factory ! ( 2min ) ( both should have been caught by Quality Control ! I did not care about the suction fail as much as the fact the entire head assembly has 3/8″ of slop both laterally, and vertically !Now I will have to disassemble it to FIX sloppy Manufacturing !Gave 1 Star, but deserves 1/10th of a single star.I DO NOT recommend this product !

Great vacuum base hobby vise
Very versatile, good quality for the cost.

I am quite happy with my purchase. I feel it is well built for the money paid. I have it mounted on my hobby station which has a glass top. I misted the rubber foot pad with a small spray bottle of water I use for watercolors and pressed down on the vice while engaging the lock lever. It has been in place for three days now and the suction is excellent. I like the fact if I need the full area of my work table I can just release the vacuum and move it. Two very big thumbs up.

Mind arrived with a damaged suction base: there are a couple of indentations and the suction base cannot hold a vacuum for more than a few minutes. For the hobby I plan on using it for it’s heavy enough that this does not matter. Otherwise I would have had to return it.I notice that it’s gone up significantly in price since I bought it, probably due to the shipping cost: I would have chosen a different vise at the current price.Yost tech support were very helpful. Recommend the company if not the packing of this particular product.

Suction cup does not hold suction for longer then 5 minutes. Everything else is fine.

I had one similiar to this for over 30 years until it finally broke in half after much heavier use than it should have been put through. This one is built a little lighter than the old one as is everything that is reproduced in later years. It does open a full inch wider than my old one at 3-3/4″ jaw opening with a full 1/2″ of the screw bolt still in.
