Customers say
Customers like the functionality, value, and ease of use of the hardware planer. They mention it works well on end grain, bondo, and drywall, and is great for quick jobs. Some are also happy with the material removal speed. However, some customers have reported that the blade quality is flimsy and the product is cheaply made.

Not a master tool but serves it’s purpose!
Sometimes you don’t need the master tool just to knock a little wood off for a good fit. Works well enough on end grain (sometimes a rasp is better there) but works really well with the grain, especially in tight spots when a singly blade planer won’t do. Easier for fine controlled removal than a chisel also!

Surform
I picked this item because I had one similar to this a long time ago and it was great. I use these surforms quite often as I am always doing woodworking. I used a handle that screwed into the side of an old drill and put it on the end of my surform. This gave me a more stability. They are quite the handy item. I recommend this item to anyone that does woodworking. I gave it this rating because I like it. Thanks.John

Great for shaping Bondo and foam!
Easy to change blades, and easy to change the direction of cut. This works great on mostly cured Bondo, forming styrofoam insulation (the good extruded kind, not the flaky “balls stuck together” kind) and with a sharp blade even forms fully cured Bondo reasonably well. Look for the mini 21-115 for curved surfaces, the smaller 21-399 for medium sized objects and the other 10″ large one 21-295 for flattening and countouring larger items. I wish I’d found these a month ago when I was building fender flares for my van!

Home repairs
I am a senior who during retirement is doing home repairs. This is a great price for the product if you are fixing your home up with bondo wood repair – also bought through Amazon Wear gloves to protect your fingers is my only suggestion

Its cheap, but that is what I was looking for
I had a door in my house that had swollen in the summer humidity, plus the house has sagged a bit. Needed take some off the top of the door quickly, and this tool did the job. Its made of stamped metal and cheap plastic, but I bought this tool for one job, and it did it. I don’t intend to cherish this tool and leave it behind me as part of my legacy — I’m just a home owner, not a wood worker.

The blade broke into pieces [ref picture] the moment i started using it on a soft pine-wood plank. Very bad product and very high price. Still waiting for supplier to accept return and give me a full refund. Got an exchange, now the handle cap is missing!
