Packaging is very simple and has a good description and picture of the stapler that comes packed …
Roberts Professional Electric Stapler (10-600). Packaging is very simple and has a good description and picture of the stapler that comes packed in a sturdy plastic case for storage. Opening the package and case is very easy, and the stapler comes with about 15 staples already inserted and ready to use. I bought this stapler to tack down a loose carpet on my stairwell. The width of the stapler, when placed against the wall, put the stapler tip in perfect position for stapling the carpet into the wood trim below. The stapler has a sturdy electric cord that hooks to standard household (120 VAC) current. Once plugged into electricity, the stapler makes no noise. It has an easy to use and conveniently placed trigger. Pressing the trigger activates the stapler. It works perfectly. I only had a small piece of loose carpet to staple, but it was at the top of the stairsâso strategically placed for someone to trip and fall. Within 5-10 minutes the job was done. The carpet was stapled securely, and the stapler, cord, and package of staples were back in the sturdy case for storage within 10-15 min. The whole job took about 10 minutes. Thinking that I would need additional staples, I bought the DUO-FAST 5418 D 9/16â Divergent Point (5000 staples). I used these staples in the stapler, and they worked perfectly. The sturdy stapler storage case also comes with a nice compartment that will hold this pack of 5000 staples in place when the case is closed. Of course, I only used the electric stapler for a few minutes, but this short-time use of the product was perfect for stapling a small piece of loose carpet and deserving of 5+ stars.

As an carpet installer I,recommended
Is very good to install carpet specially on steps, you need little patience if you are fast installing Carpets on steps,if the wood is hard, it will jam up,but most of the staplers do that, but, this staplers has a good price, I will buy it again.

Excellent tool for the right application
Great tool in the right place. Enough power to drive the staple every time. But, it’s designed for 3/16th staples. When used for fabric, leather or screen door mesh it works great. Used it to fasten foam padding for flooring and the foam was not strong enough, so it kept detaching. But that’s not that the stapler’s fault. Bought it when a P&C stapler couldn’t handle the job, and it performed great. One thing to be aware is that it takes a lot of current. Once I plugged it in with a 30 foot extension cord, and it wouldn’t even fire. It does need the 15 amps as in the spec.My daughter also keeps borrowing it for projects and really likes it.

Really does the job
Positives:I bought this for upholstery projects on antique (very hard and solid wood) furniture. It goes through thick folds of fabric with no problem at all. After doing 7 chairs with tons of staples, it only misfired once (one staple came out funky, but it didn’t go in very far and was easy to remove). It has been very reliable. It’s very powerful and is great when you are doing the difficult corner parts of upholstery projects. We were even able to use it on a wood detail project on a piece of furniture on which we put solid oak trim. It stapled right through the oak with no problem. We had been considering buying a nail gun, but this thing actually did the trick! It fires very quickly and can handle pretty rapid succession firing, so you can accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. It’s about a million times better than a regular hand-powered stapler. It’s a real workhorse.Negatives: Beware–if you mess up, then that staple is basically impossible to remove. So, you have to make sure you know what you’re doing. Also, regular hardware stores do not carry the staples (we went to 3 major hardware stores after I ordered the wrong ones online, based on what other people had ordered with this item on Amazon, so apparently we were the blind leading the blind). You have to be sure to get 3/16″ CROWN staples. The crown is the width of the top of the staple, not how deep it goes in. I was able to order the right ones online through a specialty staple store. I bought DUO-FAST 5412C 20 gauge 3/16″ crown, 3/8″ deep staples, and they work well. You can buy longer staples if you need it to go in deeper. The instructions for the staple gun specifically recommend DUO-FAST staples. Obviously, you should unplug the machine while reloading staples for safety reasons.Enjoy!

It literally failed on the VERY first trigger pull
After reading the reviews, I bought this, as my electric upholstery stapler had just given up the ghost, and I have a couple of big jobs this week. Ordered on Friday, showed up two hours ago on Sunday evening. Gotta love prime. Decided on this based on reviews and Prime shipping, as the other brand I normally use isn’t on Amazon and it won’t show up until Thursday or Friday. Nice blow molded case, gun felt good in hand and seemed to be solidly built. Much to my extreme disappointment, the Roberts stapler failed on the VERY FIRST TRIGGER pull. Seriously. Took it out of the box, loaded it, plugged it in, and pulled the trigger. It fired, and something broke internally, because the anvil won’t retract/reset. NOTHING in the instructions about what to do if that happens, so I figured it meant it was dead. I’m not taking a brand new gun apart to see what happened. Boxed it right back up, filed a return, and dropped it off at Kohl’s Amazon return less than two hours after it was delivered. Fluke? Maybe. Buyer beware is all I can say.

Purchased this stapler and it broke in less then 20 uses. Screws starting falling out the first couple times i used it then the part that drives the stapler just failed one day and never worked again.

Drives staples very well ,lots of power but is a odd size 20 gauge all of my other tools (pneumatic) is 18 gauge. 20 gauge staples hard to find (usually special order) and more expensive and less variety, and has no safety will fire as soon as trigger is depressed. Keeping that in mind is still an awsome tool and I would recommended it .
