  1. Sarah

    Fantastic for Smooth Veneer Edges
Used it smooth about 60′ of 10mil mahogany veneer on a complete dresser refinishing job. Top tool for fine finishing.

  2. FIGJAM

    Size matters
I’m often in need of my Bastard. Rat tail & half round files. Problem is it’s difficult to get the 10” ones out of the bottom my toolbag. I replaced all the 10” with 8” & couldn’t be happier about it. Nicholson is a well made product.

  3. Chip

    Nicholson File
    Excellent file for larger applications

  4. Ken S.

    So far so good
I am a bit biased re files and being made in America. I prefer nicholson black diamond made in USA, but of course these are harder and harder to obtain. This unit is from Brazil and I must say it cuts very well. Single cut bastard 12″ and it does remove the metal. I use it principally as intermediate “grit” in mower blade sharpening … and I sharpen a lot of blades … and so far I am impressed. Time will tell if the file holds up but at this time quite a pleasant value and performance.

  5. Mary L.C. Lohman

    Good Purchase
Arrive on time. File teeth were sharp and will work well on axes and machetes.

  6. Leroy

    High quality
This was definitely a high quality file

  7. Starstrm

    Nicholson Files are real files!
Do yourself a favor and always buy Nicholson files. Avoid the cheap Made in China files. The single cut 12″ Bastard is a real file and works like a file should. I have been using Nicholson files for over 50 years.

  8. Willie S.

    Great quality tools
Always have the best files I have ever used performed was comfortable sharp perfect size for the job

  9. Amazon Customer

Love this file for fast removal of silver. It’s been discontinued at our local hardware store so glad to find it here.

  10. Marta

    Best you can get.

  11. WellTrainedMonkey

No issue with the quality and finish, works well.Removes materials as much as I expected and leaves surface as I expected. All good!

  12. Invisible Man

This file used to be made in the US, then Mexico, now Brazil. It’s probably a coincidence but the one I just received, has missing teeth toward the tip of the file. My Mexican one worn quickly when used on brass. No idea how the Brazil one would fair.

  13. Raceral

Well made and lasts a long time if properly used and cared for. I have never been disappointed by a Nicholson product and this one doesn’t disappoint either.
