Customers say
Customers like the functionality, quality, and ease of use of the wire stripper. They mention it works well on most gauges of wire, the cutters work fine, and it’s easy to work under a dash. Some are satisfied with the crimping power. However, some dislike the grip quality and disagree on the build quality and size.

Great build quality and compact
Wanted to add a decent wire cutter/crimper tool to my general household tool bag. I use to use Chanellock when I use to work in the automotive industry and theyâre obviously great quality. But theyâre a bit pricey and wanted to give this one a try. Overall the quality is great. Works to cut wire quick and crimping ability is perfect for being a smaller tool. Not too big and not too small and comfortable to hold. A great addition to your general tool bag.

Two reviews in oneâ¦
Amazon seems to be combining Neiko reviews hereâ¦Wire stripper review⦠I purchased these after I got the pliers (below) because I wanted to try this type of wire stripper. Ever strip a wire and take a few strands with it when using traditional wire strippers? Enter these.Tool itself seems well built. Cheap where it can be like the wire depth thingy, but it works. The important bits are all metal. Made in China of course. Expected for the price.I tried it first on a 14 gauge I believe thick cig lighter plug double wire and it easily cut both at once perfectly. Max depth looks to be 5/8â. They crimp beautifully. Insulated and non. These are very slick wire strippers. Iâm a lefty and I can operate them fine. Iâd prefer them to be reversed, but itâs not difficult to use.Plier review⦠These are really nice pliers. Great pliers with so many uses from crimping to stripping. If you want a compact pair of pliers that can do it all and arenât automatic wire stripping these are great.

Decent for the price.
I have been using these for about a year. The cutters work fine and the tips don’t bend or flex much when prying. The handles came off, so I had to super glue them back on. Also the wire stripper section binds up a little bit, probably just bent a little.

What a time-saver!
Before getting this tool, I have been stripping wires with a utility knife. It usually works, though sometimes it cuts too deep and cuts through inner wires of multi-wire cables like CAT5, or stranded wire and some strands get cut off. It’s time consuming to strip wire this way.I finally broke down and got one of these. Wow! It makes stripping wires fast, easy, accurate, and repeatable. I tried it on solid and stranded wire from #14 house wire to the stranded wires inside CAT5 – all fast and flawless. An adjustable strip gauge is perfect for when having a repeatable strip for a critical length. The crimper and cutter are just more gravy.Basically, it seems to do everything it’s supposed to do, and does it well. So what about the things it does NOT supposed to do? I tried it on the PVC casing of 3-wire #14 house wire. It doesn’t fit into the jaws, so obviously that does not work. But it does strip the wires inside. I tried some very thin stranded hookup wire with a tough, slippery outside, and it could not get a purchase on that. These are the only things I have found so far that it could not do, and after all, it is not advertised to do these things.I tried it with the casing of CAT5. Flawless, and no damage to the wires inside; strips the stranded wire inside just fine too. Old 4-wire telephone cable: perfect, and it can strip the small gauge solid wire inside. I tried a thin shielded cable (just a bit more than an eighth of an inch thick) and it was able to take off the outside jacket. That speaker wire with the clear casing? Works as expected, but it can also strip both conductors at once (suggest that you split them first, which is easier than after stripping). It can strip both conductors at once for medium-gauge AC appliance wire.I’ll update this report with results of trying CATV cable, other large-gauge shielded cable, and anything else I can find around.I’m very happy with this purchase, and only wish I had bought one years ago.

Great Wire Strippers
Have had these wire strippers for over a decade and they have come in handy many times stripping larger diameter wire. Some of the insulation on wires can be pretty tough and stripping with wire cutters or scissors is a chore. These have worked well and I can only remember one or two times where they “pulled” at the insulation in a way that didn’t strip correctly out of 100’s of uses.Other styles of cheaper strippers have different sized holes depending on diameter of the wire. Which can be a pain to use at times because either you don’t know the gauge of the wire or the insulation isn’t as thick as they were made to strip. These strippers basically size to the wire themselves and there’s really no thinking involved other than the length you want to have stripped.I kind of prefer using these with 18awg wire or less (ie. larger diameter). They’ve come in handy for house projects, pinball and arcade machine repairs and hobby projects.

Not Bad For Price
Had to be filed a good bit to close freely, strippers and crimpers work good. Worst part about it is they didn’t put a cutter in the front but I knew that going in. If they don’t break long term will be good buy for the money.
