So Easy to Use!
Just repaired my RV Cable port. Watched the You Tube videos a bunch of times and finally tried my hand for the first time. Stripper worked perfectly, the connectors are first rate and the crimper… one firm squeeze and the job was done! I fixed my cable too. So easy and the result was a professional looking and feeling result. I installed a new cable port from Ace as well and the cable is so much clearer now! Plus I have 4 more RG6 connectors for future repairs. Really glad I bought the Klein. Good quality tools.

Good quality kit – Disposable tester though
This is a very good kit for completing a coax cable installation project. All of the components of the kit seem to be made well and are of good quality. The stripping tool was very simple to use. I was able to complete fabrication of about a dozen cables easily, without any issues. Cables stripped perfectly every time. The crimping tool was also very simple to use and again, I was able to complete all of the cables without a hitch. The included connectors are very good quality work perfectly. The cable tester was very useful in completing my project. I was able to find a short in the cable that my electrician had installed for my home theatre. I was also able to trace a few cables that the home builder had left un-marked, and determine witch rooms that they went to. The directions for the tester however state that the battery in the tester cannot be replaced, and that it should be discarded when it no longer works. I was a little diappointed when I read that. The directions do not state how long the batteries last, either number of uses or shelf life. All in all , this is a realy good kit, and I feel as though I got my money’s worth out of it.

Fixed my Cable TV Problems
I had problems with cable in my house ever since a moved in. Tee signal upstairs would flake out and the TV would pixelate. I had the cable company come out and they re-did some splitters but it didn’t really help. I had two different cable companies over this time period and the same kinds of problems. So I bought one of these kits and a spool of cable, some bi-directional splitters and re-strung everything I could in the house. I used the newer type of cable (RG6 Quad shield) and this kit. I didn’t realize how bad my old connectors and cable was until I started replacing it with this. The connectors crimp on rock solid and not sure why others were having problems, but it all worked great for me. I watched a couple of videos about the proper way to work with quad Shield (pretty easy). When I finished, everything worked great. I even strung extra cable to some spots I might need it in the future.Note -= there were two places where I could NOT replace the old style cable – but I did put the new connectors on using this kit. Tee cable still worked great. Including the ability to interact with the remote (some kind of two way communication down the cable, not just at the TV)So why four stars? – I guess because I had to come up with a way to store it all together, with the instructions, when I was done using it. It could have come with a zip lock and I would have been happy – but nothing, so I had to come up with something myself.Final confession – I never used the tester, so I cant tell you if that worked well or not, but I am guessing it would work just fine.

Worked perfectly
I used this to install a bunch of connectors on RG-6 coax and it worked perfectly. The stripper took off the right amount of insulation and dielectric. The crimper worked just like it should. The tester was easy to use and accurate.Count on Klein. I have for nearly 50 years.

Better than paying the cable company to install connectors.
When we purchased our house they did not put ends on the RG6Q (quad) coax cable at the box. Tried to get the cable and direct tv installer to do it when we moved in, but they would not. Later, we wanted to move our router to a different room, which put us in a dilemma… find a way to do it ourselves or pay the cable company. This tool performed perfectly. Used the diagnostic tool to identify the line, trimmed the wire, installed the end. AWESOME, well worth the money because I was able to do it myself, and now I can make my own cables if I wish, etc.INSTALLATION TIP !!! The directions that come with the kit aren’t the greatest, and I never used a compression tool before. SO take note. Make sure you push the compression fitting ALL the way on (the white ‘dielectric’ should be against the connector) before you use the compression tool. I thought the tool was going to pull the cable into the fitting, it does not. (so I wasted the first connector)For those wondering if the kit & connectors work with RG6Q quad cable. YES, worked beautifully, trimmed correctly, connector fit, and once compressed, very secure hold. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!

Perfect amateur tools to test lines and crimp on new ends
I used this set to figure out which of the eight lines of lines I found in my walls runs to my office. All eight lines of coax were cut and so I used the prep tool to get the lines prepped – one at a time and then the crimper tool to get new ends added. Then I tested the line using the tester tool and fortunately it only took three lines to figure out which coax ran to my office. I’ve never done this before and the instructions were clear enough that everything worked easily and without a hitch. Took about 30 minutes to figure it all out and find the right line. Then I added a coax to ethernet converted to each end and voila, now I can be hard-lined from my wifi router on the far end of the house to my office, using the built in coax in the walls. Saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars to have an electrician wire cat6 through the walls. Highly recommend for amateur coax projects.

Pros: Well built, easy to use, works well.I have used this multiple times and have made perfect connections with very little effort or experience.Con: It is not the cheapest tool available to do the job and the proprietary fittings are priced way too high in my opinion. You can sometimes buy a complete cable for just the price of two fittings.Overall opinion: If you want a great tool to cut custom cable lengths then this will definitely do the job, just not very cost effectively.

It seems pricey for a tool that is essentially replacing a utility knife and some skill. But I do recommend it simply by how simple it makes it. It works great. My only wish is that it included something that could snip the wires too (you might need one if you don’t already have it)
