    Great quality
I am quickly learning that Klein is the way to go. As with all of their products this is of a superior build quality. Very well made and works great. The extra blade storage space in the handle is clever and convenient. Well worth the money.

  2. Sujatha

    Works as Advertised
Works perfectly. Embarrassingly easy to use. Made 2 cuts and cutter teeth still intact.

  3. Dan L

    Worth it
For this diy guy, it was very worth it. Made wiring my shop a lot easier, it cleanly cut the metal casing and never nicked a wire

    Good but cheaply made.
With a little practice the tool works very well and saves a lot of time. On 1/2” MC Set the tool to small MC cable and push in the red tab on the backside. DO NOT Squeeze the handle very hard at all. Turn the handle should not be very much resistance at all. After a couple cranks, you will fill it stop cutting. Take cable out. Turn it counterclockwise, and the shielding will come right off.The bad: After about 35 cuts. The hex shaft that holds the blade stripped out. The bolt that holds the blade on was very tight so that was not the problem. I did not abuse The tool or rough with it. The hex on the shaft that fits in the cutting blade just stripped out. I just took a small lock washer and put on the blade and tighten the nut down on it. So the lock washer is holding the blade in place. I’ve done another 100+ cuts has worked fine.

    Feel like a real electrician
This is a very handy tool. I never used it until I needed to install an armored wire. It looks like something your grandfather would own but it is actually very simple and easy to use. You hold the wire by the tool and cut it with a small disk by turning the handle. Once the metal is cut though, it spirals right off. A must have if you are doing any armored cables.

    Worth it
Probably costs more than it should but works well. If it feels like the handle is turning but the blade isn’t just tighten the screw and maybe don’t squeeze so hard.

    Works Perfect
I am working on my second large project using shielded cable. The first project only used a wire cutter, which crushed the shielding and added much work. The current project, with this cutter, is making the job much easier. The $40 price point is easily worth it. Although it only does one job, it does it very, very well.

Lack of hex nut for blade shaft
Not sure when it changed, but this model is poor. The shaft that goes through the cutting wheel and attaches to the hand wheel is round while the blade has a hex opening. Spins no problem until it meets armor, then binds blade. Thought initially it was a loose 3/8 nut, used wrench and tightened. The threads sheared off. Expensive paperweight. Do not recommend.

For the last two weeks i have been used side cutter to strip BX.I finally got feed up and bout the proper tool to do the job. This tool is quality and work as its intended. So far i have run 80 meters of BX and not a problem.Only thing I would point out as a fault is blade cost, when you need to replace it. The cheapest price I could find was 19 Canadian. That is for one blade. For a blade that small I would think it should cost 10$ for 2 or 3 blades.

After contemplating between the Seatek Roto-Split vs Klein Tools, I decided to buy the cheaper Klein Tools instead. It was my first time using this cutter tool to strip BX armored cable and the instruction that came with it was way too small to read so it took me little while on how to use this tool. The cutting blade is inside the round black handle that needs to be fitted on the front of the unit so that it cuts a straight line on the BX cable (not round cut). As you rotate the handle, you will feel some resistance but once fully cut, the handle spins freely. To release the cut cable from this tool, just pull and it should come right off. This is a good tool for working with BX cable and I recommend it.

Nice and solid tool. Just disappointed by the blade quality and the fact that they only give one…at least a spare one in the compartment.
