very good, good size, works well
A very handy saw. It’s a convenient size, sturdily made, and comes with both a general-purpose blade (suitable for wood) and a hacksaw blade. I recently used it to cut up a small fallen tree, and it made for quick work despite the short blade.I’m impressed with this design. I wanted a bow saw for occasional brush or branch work, but didn’t want to store an enormous model. I also wanted to replace an ancient hacksaw that worked poorly (not ergonomic, difficult to make a straight cut). This one saw addressed both needs. The handle is nicely ergonomic. The tensioner is super-handy to keep the blade straight on a hard cut. The guard makes those skinned knuckles a thing of the past. Swapping blades is tool-less– just wing nuts and a tensioning clamp. It’s even good-looking.I’m impressed Irwin has produced this good a saw at this price point. Highly Recommended.

    Usefully Stiff Hacksaw!
Used it to not only to cut down some of the debris that needed to be cleared but also did very well for precision cutting of larger sized logs and huge branches. Only downside i experienced while using this tool was the gripping handle tightening trigger holds the blade steady when cutting but the washer that is attached still gets loose from time to time which is a better trade off in my opinion than having to use another tool just to readjust. Great outdoors tool to have for cutting anything small to large sized thickness of wood and would recommend to anyone looking for a wood trimmer. Tested on 5″ – 6″ width logs.

Harvest saw! Pretty good so far.
Was skeptical at first because label says made in china and i thought all irwin tools were made in the usa but i had no time to waste because its harvest time!! just cut down a few large ladies. It rips real smooth, its sturdy, it locks tightly. Has a guard for the wood blade but no guard for the metal blade. Updates in the future.

More for the same cost as replacement blade
I wanted a 12″ bow saw blade to make a natural branch bushcraft buck saw and came across this on Amazon. It is only a dollar more than the cheapest blade by itself and comes with a metal cutting hacksaw blade. So I made the buck saw and put the hacksaw blade in the frame. The frame is great! Now I have a high clearance hacksaw too. The frame is tubular steel flattened into an oval shape which makes it stronger and more ergonomic. The D hand guard is good and it has small wing nuts that hold the blade on. It has a typical handle lever for tensioning the blade that works well. The wood cutting blade seems designed primarily for dry wood but I use it mostly to cut green wood. I have cut a good amount of wood including ironwood and the blade is still sharp. I haven’t used the he metal cutting blade much but it worked well and held up well cutting through a 1/2 inch rebar.

Poorly packed. The screws were laying loose in the box and I am surprised that they arrived.
It seems like a nice little bow saw but it is poorly packed. I am surprised that the bolts and wing nuts arrived in the box. Thye were loose inside of the package and I am surprised that they did not fall out during shipping. I expected more from Irwin.

A gem of a little saw!
A great quality tool for the price (despite the “Made in China” label). Tho light in weight, it’s very sturdy. This pint size combination bow saw has been perfect for a variety of small jobs – from tree limbs to metallic tubing. The safety hand guard, combined with the cushion end grips that were on my saw, will make for more comfortable work. Keeping extra blades on hand is important so note that a replacement 12″ wood blade may be difficult to source. The well known big and small hardware chain stores (as of this writing) don’t seem to carry them. However, Amazon does have 1 or more sources. (Search – 12″ bow saw blade) As an extra note, given the portable size and durable versatility of this bow saw, I find it a perfect and essential tool to include with camping gear and particularly with any emergency disaster pack. My pack won’t be without one.

This is what I use when I don’t want to get out the chainsaw
Chainsaws are wonderful, but it’s kind of a project to get them out, lubricate them, start them, etc. This Irwin saw is what I turn to when I have a little project that is right on the edge of chainsaw territory. It’s much easier to grab this and lop off a few branches for cleanup work. I have lots of trees on my property, so this is a frequent occurrence. The blade is very sharp and cuts through medium-sized branches (or trees) with relative ease. I really like the convenience that it offers me… along with the size, the efficiency, and the quality. Great product!

    Good. Thicker metal
Good. Thicker metal, but heavier than ace brand. Hand guard nice. Wing nuts fell off and are lost but still working

Full disclosure; I bought the “used” item for a cheaper price. Upon receipt all looked good. Felt good in the hand, balanced with a handle at the front for 2 handed sawing. HOWEVER, when I went to use the saw I learned why it was used/returned; blade #2 of the dual blade system was unable to be secured to the saw on one side. Basically, the hole the bolt needed to go through was placed too far back from the position it needed to be in. So I wasn’t happy about that but I’m sure it’s more a circumstance of a one-off manufacturing defect not poor quality overall. Amazon should’ve inspected the returned item and not resold it. I included a note taped to the saw when I returned it so Amazon wouldn’t sell it to yet another person. That defect is the only reason in gave 4 stars. Otherwise, it was a great saw in every way

Just needed something smaller. This works great. Easy to handle. Perfect size for what I need.

Had good luck w Irwin tools so far. Think good here too, for under 30$ can. Took my 303 conditioning well( soon I’ll either be covered in 303 or JB weld). Quite the kick to the cantilever so be careful, prolly good thing. Keeps blade tight. They gave me a metal blade too, this thing runs regular hack saw blades don’t forget
