    Great for bow hunting
I bought for use trimming some lanes and odd branches for bow hunting , works great , sharp and cuts fast I didn’t cut nothing too big yet with it , but does the job for me

    good
Update:I was trying to come up with some caveat for the review, but on closer inspection (see pics), I can’t find fault with the design. The blade is enclosed in metal (seemingly steel or steel alloy, same as the blade maybe), and the perceived flimsiness is just due to the flexibility of the blade. At most, metal on metal contact could mean that the joint could benefit from some grease to prevent rust.I also realized that the saw has a second, wide open position, though I’m not sure what the utility of it is.Old:I got this because it was on sale and it’s fiskars, which imo is a pretty good brand. It does have a slightly flimsy feel when folded, but when opened it seems as sturdy as it needs to be.It’s not harder to cut with than any other hand saw I’ve used, so I think that some reviewers may just not know how to use one. (you’re bearing down too much, trying to get too big of a bite. You need a lighter touch).I’m not sure how it would handle sideways pressure on the hinge/joint when opened, so it may not be the most robust saw ever, but it’s very lightweight and portable, so it would be good for camping/hiking, or to keep in an offroad vehicle toolkit or utv, along with maybe a small hand axe (I keep one, also by fiskars).

Fiskars Quality – Enough Said !!!
As always Fiskars makes great durable products, and this saw is no exception. If you don’t want to fork over the dough for a GomBoy but still want quality, look no further. This saw has roughly the same length blade as the GomBoy, coming in at 10 inches but cost less than half the price. A GomBoy may cut a bit faster, but in my opinion not so much so to justify the price difference, and I own both saws. As you can see from the pictures I’ve included, this saw locks into two separate positions as well, which will assist you in cutting in tight and awkward positions. Fiskars quality means years of durability, just buy this thing and be happy!!!

Top notch saw – Fiskar is the way to go
I’ve found Fiskars products to be a great product for their price point. Fiskar is good quality and more affordable option.I have the 16′ telescoping saw + trimmer which is fantastic, so I decided to go with this for smaller jobs closer to the ground. And over all I’m happy with it.I have a couple of physical conditions that can sometimes hold me back, but I can’t afford the brands I would normally want. I ordered this because I was shocked on how fast my current saw worked on higher branches that were pretty thick, so I got this smaller version for things closer to the ground. The feel, durability, grip and sharpness did not disappoint. This saw cut right through bigger branches quickly and with ease once you get it started. It doesn’t grab and bite into the branches as I expected. I must admit I prefer the long telescoping saw over this hand held one. It just didn’t quite meet my expectations, but still does a really decent job.

This saw is the one that I carry
I have several of the folding pocket type saws. they are a little short. this one fits in the side long pocket of my hunting vest and is easy and fast when cutting branches quietly and quickly. It would be nice if it came with a inexpensive pouch/sheath type belt attachment with a faster QD attachment. I’ll do one myself and maybe put a picture on here. great straped to side of back.pack. makes getting firewood Ina hurry easy or getting some branches out of the way. nice saw.

    As advertised
    Great tool

  7. SteveB

    It’s a Fiskars!
It has a larger handle than I expected, but it fits the hand well. Everything works as expected from a Fiskars. The blade cuts up to 3″ easily. Much more than that takes some planning because of the short stroke, but is doable.I use it as a camping/off-road emergency saw – I used to use a cable/chain strap saw, but this is a little more convenient for cutting up firewood.

  8. Krater

    This thing is sharp!
Be careful. This saw is very sharp. Always wear gloves.Works like a champ on trimming tree branches. I also have another one in my 72 hour emergency bag.

  9. Reviewing Wombat

Needed to take down several 5” thick dead trees. Saw didn’t balk – spend the money and buy it.

  10. Adam

Generally well constructed and gets emergency jobs done pretty well.

  11. Pete

Super sharp, use it on the trails to clear cut. Works awesome.

  12. Erim Nelson

Cuts good, light weight. The blade is pretty easy to bend, and the material the handle is made of is already showing some wear, but doesn’t effect the functionality

  13. Trevor

I’m impressed with this saw. Holds up well. Light weight and great for canoe camping.
