Beginner, Impressed!
So I have had a few lock-back pocket knives kicking around my life for a few years now. One Gerber has been with my for over a decade. Over the last few months, I have realized how I have completely neglected blade care all this time. I use them purely for home use, work use, and have yet had a chance to use them as an “outdoorsman” would… someday! Some of my knives have gotten nastily damaged and dulled over the years…. some just dulled. I have a “pro” motorized, ceramic kitchen knife sharpener, and out of of desperation I TRIED using it on my oldest Gerber. Nope, can’t barely fit the thick blade in the slots, and even so, the original bevel must be at too large of an angle. It looks like it tried to grind down a secondary bevel. I know that it cuts at 20 degrees. After research, watching sharpening methods using everything from sandpaper, to whetstones, to splash & go stones, to diamond bench sharpeners, I settled on this one for all my general sharpening. After trying to emulate the methods I had watched, I cannot believe it, but I already have had HUGE results! My oldest most damaged Gerber, pitted, dulled, etc…. After doing the work 10x slower than anyone else, I managed to restore the edge, get ride of the pitting AND properly sharpen the blade all on this stone… Didn’t even use a coarser stone before hand to “repair the edge”… I got it to the point that it cuts through paper smoothly, through the full blade with no jagged tears… I do not have a proper way to strop the bevel off yet, so I did some horizontal blade sharpening pulls, alternating until the bevel pretty much was gone, and I used my work mat in place of a leather strop in the meantime until I can get one…It can’t arm hair shave very well just yet, but I am sure until I can get more of the proper gear to remove the bevel and I work on my technique, I am convinced I will be able to get to that point. I watched a video of a guy sharpening a blade on this stone, and had such good technique, was able to shave his arm hairs straight away.I will get there! Meantime, fantastic bench stone! DO NOT BUY CHEAP DIAMOND STONES! Those are not made properly where the diamond is not ionized into the metal, and are just stuck on with adhesive, meaning it will wear down and rub off completely over time. This stone will last for years in comparison!

OMG ð±
I heard about this stone from the YouTuber OUTDOORS55. Listen first off, I’m terrible at sharpening had to get me a angle guide. I’ll day this though, this stone is insane. It’ll sharpen your super steels and leave them with an insane edge. Warning after sharpening you may end up cut a limb or finger from the sharpness. I jest, but I just thought I should warn you. Bye reader!

Very high quality
These diamond plate sharpeners are something I have been eyeballing for a while now, but I have so many sharpening stones, I thought this would just be a waste of money. Boy was I wrong! What a fantastic addition to your workbench and it gets your knives and scissors razor sharp! Super easy to use, slick design and decent size. The only con is the price point. I think this may be slightly overpriced, but it really works well, so I am ok to overlook this in deference to performance. I have several similar sharpening steels for kitchen knives that work equally well and I should have known that this performance would be on par. I cannot compare to other brands of the same thing, but I think will stick with this brand because I am impressed with the quality. Great product.

Cuts great but not too fast
Just got this stone today. My ultratech was getting pretty dull so I decided to give this a shot after watching videos that recommended this exact stone. I was afraid when I saw the bad reviews about it not being fully coated or flat. Mine is only missing the diamond coating on maybe a 1/2mm square on the very very corner so I feel like that is more than acceptable. And from what I can tell itâs perfectly flat. It cuts into the steel very well and it doesnât cut so fast that you would be afraid to remove too much material so I really like that. It sharpened m390 just fine and after stropping the blade it whittles hairs. As does my 154cm Emerson that I just sharpened on it. And let me say Iâve abused that knife every way possible and there were decent chips in the blade that I was able to work out. Iâd recommend this stone with a two sided strop and 3.5-1.0-0.5 micron diamond stropping compound. Iâve been able to get knives to shave with simple cheap stones but those edges donât feel nearly as sharp as this Diesharp stone makes them. Overall Iâd buy again. And itâs very heavy so it doesnât slide around even with decent or light pressure applied. Iâm sure this will last me a good while and I like that itâs low maintenance because gosh do I hate oil stones.

Very Excited
I ordered this sharpening stone from a YouTube review and I’m really glad I did it.As a beginner, I think this stone is forgiving for errors, and I did a bunch. I sharpened a test dull knife, it took me a while to figure out the angle, but after figuring this out, the sharpening was easy and kinda fun. I’m satisfied with the results and will start sharpening my other knives.I wish the stone had something to help find the angle and some stand or anything to lift the stone above the surface it is standing.

OtrzymaÅem fabryczny bubel. Na caÅej powierzchni ostrzaÅki widoczne sÄ koloste Ålady obróbki. Na powierzchni widoczne sÄ liczne wgÅÄbienia. Just pretty much reprofiled an old kitchen knife with a 600 grit fine stone!! These stones are very very effective. Normally you’d need a 120 or 240. Ive been hand sharpening for a couple of years now with wetstones so am pretty experienced. This stone is exceptional and ideal for beginners. A 600 grit stone is normally a third stone before a 1000 and then 4000/6000 polish. However this 600 is way more effective than a 600 grit wetstone so the results are immediate and significant. All I can say is that they work a lot quicker than wetstones so take it easy with new or already sharp knives. Burr creation is profound so very easy to tell when youve apexed. Even old difficult to sharpen knives wont last two minutes with this thing, so glad I found it. I follow a guy on youtube who taught me how to sharpen, look him up. His youtube profile is OUTDOORS55. His name is Alex. He got me into DMT stones and gives great tutorials on every day sharpening using cost effective stones. No need for Japanese chosera stones at £200, get one of these american imports, sharpen from a fine stone and then strop to shaving sharpness!

I got this one after watching Outdoors55’s video showing off the difference in sharpening quality, it took a bit to find this one since there seemed to be a few dubious copies as per Amazon but man. This one works GREAT. Instead of a shifty edge that doesn’t cut so well that I got from the “water stone” whetstone, this one sharpens it beyond that in just a few passes so it really helped when I was cutting up my pork roast since the skin tends to dull the cheap blade really easily.
