This saw is a GREAT quality saw
This saw is a GREAT quality saw. Its the top of the line for hard-point handsaws. The toothing on this is an acute fleam cut pattern, with a 3-sided ground. The difference between this and their General Purpose saw, is the TPI (Teeth per inch) are 11/12 while the Gen. Purpose Saw has 15/16 TPI. Also the General Purpose saw does NOT have a 3-sided ground tooth. Both are the same length. and have the same thickness kerf: (00.75)The main selling points between these two saws are: The 3-sided Ground tooth, and the TPI.If you want a Moderate fine cut that cuts faster, with little to no tear-out, go with this Toolbox Saw.If you want a MUCH FINER cut that cuts slower, with SOME tear out, go with the General Purpose saw.The three-sided ground helps diminish tear-out. But the cut is Avg.-fineThe non-sided ground from the Bahco’s General Purpose Saw allows more tear-out, but due to the finer teeth, the cut is a little bit finer then the Toolbox Saw. .. (…a little!)For my uses, the toolbox saw is better, because it cuts fine-enough for what I use it for and the tear-out is not as bad. Plus I can cut a little bit faster with a 11/12 point saw than I can a 15/16 point saw.I use this saw primarily for cross cutting across the wood. Its sucks at rip-cutting, because its not really designed for rip cutting (due to the acute fleam tooth pattern) despite what Bahco says of it being Universal. The handle feels Great in your hand. Its the most comfortable saw I have held. Its for medium sized hands.

    Super Precise Neat Cuts
It is so precise and neat that the wood cut using this saw is literally indistinguishable from the ones done with other precision machine. Obviously it is going to be slower but nevertheless an excellent option for clean and neat cuts.It is lightweight and the protecting blade cover is a big plus.I’ve had two of these and in terms of durability, it will develop rust if stored outside. I recommend oiling it using a non toxic oil for storage.

    Better than the original
I have an older version of this saw from when the brand name was Sandvik. I bought it used and got a lot of use out of it. I still have it and it still works well, though not as sharp as it once was. This new Bahco has a slightly more comfortable handle, and it is really sharp. Doesn’t require much effort to wail through a piece of wood. Lot of saw for the money. No negatives that I can think of. It is everything that I need in a toolbox saw.

    works!
    Excellent little saw!

    Great saw!
This saw is fantastic and has become my favorite saw. I am a woodworker so I have several saws. When I first got this it is so light I figured it would cut to good. Wrong, it cuts great and weighs half as much as my other saws. Will be buying another in the future.

One saw, so many uses: sharp, small & flexible.
This is the second saw of this type I have bought. Took at least 15 years to justify a second. The compact size & incredible bite make this a fill in for fine work, jigging, pruning, camping. Great steel and flex. I am no master carpenter, so I am sure I have abused it. Remarkable value.

  7. Ranger

This is a great general purpose saw
Using it to replace a very old Japanese saw that had seen better days. Sharp, sturdy, small enough to work with easily.
