Great quality and price
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this kit, I’ve had shoddy luck with other chisel sets (handles falling off, etc.)… However I have been nothing but impressed by these little buggers. The chrome-vanadium alloy holds an edge exceptionally well, even after hard use. Granted I’ve mostly used them on soft woods, but even so the edge is strong, and the kit includes a whetstone – making it a breeze to resharpen if needed. The handles fit well in my hand, and are comfortable even after extended use. A small thing, but a nice touch, were the plastic tips included to protect the edges of each chisel – they hold up well and are great for keeping your tools sharp and ready for the next time you use them. All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and craftsmanship of these chisels. With proper care and storage I’m looking forward to years of good use out of them, so for me this purchas has been a great value.

Amazing….. chisel set…
I retired as a GC after nearly 30 years, I parted with a lot of good and a lot of expensive tools over the years. I needed to replace some of my tools that I donated or sold or gave to my guys as thanks. One thing I knew I was going to replace matching sets of tools for my new workshop, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something that I didn’t intend to use incredibly often. This is one of the best sets of chisels I’ve ever bought. They came incredibly honed, the way I was showed to check how fine, was shave some hair off your wrist…. out of the box they did.I’ve bought and misplaced, and used and forgotten and traded off for one reason or another. These are as good as an incredibly expensive set from a ‘wood working company’. I’m not speaking ill of those companies, I’m just saying if you need a good set of chisels and your not selling your work based on your chisels…GET THESE!!!!!I’ll steer anyone to them over another set. I’ll keep my mixed set in the back up drawer, for someone else to use or borrow. The Amazon ones are mine only!!!!!! Get them and tell anyone else, get their own!!!! BUY THEM!!!ððððPS I have to fill in around the dead bolt and lock strike plates, and paint. But I was so pleased that I finally used them I wanted to post this ASAP. They cut wood like butter, I barely used a hammer to tap the chisel along, or just the butt of my hand. Sharp as can be, from the factory!!!

Great set of starter chisels
I bought these not expecting much but was surprised. They arrive in a nice hard case and very sharp. the only downside is the handles are not very durable. I used a hammer to get a 6×6 carved up a bit and the handle was permanently deformed afterwards. This was not the steel chisel itself, but just the rubber/plastic handle. I had to sand out some rough pieces of plastic to make it comfortable again. Otherwise these are cheap and seem to do the job as needed. Very durable and seem they will last if kept stored correctly. I’m not sure how these compare to others as I don’t use chisels much but I would buy these again if needed.

These chisels come with a case.
I finally bought more chisels that come with a case. I needed a chisel the other day to repair a closet switch. (I had to enlarge an indent for a larger switch.) The only chisel I could find looked like it had gone through a war. My wife has been using it to pull out nails and staples. I had to really work to make it useful for what it was designed to do. Now I have a case to hide what is inside so that the new chisels do not get used as claw hammers again. I will leave the old abused chisels out for her to destoy at will. Some tools should not be stored on a dead tool wall.

Super sharp!!
Work like a real woodsmith. Can’t attest to durability of handle really. Old ones had metal knob ends. These are just plastic/polymer ð¤·ââï¸Edit: Still Sharp AF. I’m here to diss the case. Not much use and the clasps won’t stay shut. ð¤·ââï¸

Will teach you patience in sharpening
I’m admittedly an amateur woodworker. I bought my first set of chisels, figuring something cheap would get me started until I decide which tools require better quality to get good results. As a beginner, I think I will get totally adequate results from this set. I’ve already chopped and pared some pretty good through mortises in pine, right out of the box. When I felt the ones I was using were getting too dull, I set about actually flattening and sharpening them. And flattening. And flattening. My wife wonders what I’ve been doing at the kitchen counter all weekend. My back wonders, too.I started on the larger ones, and every single one so far (I’ve tested four of them) is anything but flat. Tool marks I can understand and handle (and there are plenty). But bellied backs and wavy warps are very common. I think they’ve all had a thin spot in the top left corner that I still haven’t been about to reach by grinding down the rest of the surface. I mean, one of them is noticeably thinner along one side profile vs. the other. I’ve probably worked on the big one for an hour today alone, with the 120g oil stone included, as well as a coarse diamond stone. If I can’t make the back flat along the edge, then I don’t have much hope in getting a truly sharp bevel. It’s possibly this is just user error, of course. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, or maybe my expectations are too high.Honestly, if I had seen how not-flat they are (especially all in the same corner, at the edge), I would have just returned them. But now I’m just hoping that I get some good sharpening practice out of them, before putting them back into use. And at that point, I do expect they will serve me well, once I’ve got them properly set up. So, 4 stars for now. We’ll see if my patience holds out to really put them to work and report back.

Exceptional edge retention
These chisels were bought with a budget buy in mind. However, when they arrived I was amazed at the quality and feel of these so-called budget products. They are anything but a “budget feel” .After several projects, the edge was exceptionally sharp and cut like they came out of the box. For what I call “throw away, one project tools” (think Harbor Freight) these were bought with that in mind BUT after several usages the are just as good as new. These are now my go-to chisels of choice for future projects.
