I’ve used Scotch Magic tape for decades, and have come to rely on it. I bought these relatively new dispensers and tape to reward 3M for making the effort to avoid plastic. The tape is interesting â a bit “mottled” with the adhesive, unlike their regular removable tape, but it works well. Itâll be interesting to see how the 66% plant-based adhesive performs.Other reviewers have mentioned a “flaw” in the design, which is that if you grip it like other tape rolls, you’ll squeeze the tape and make it hard to dispense. This is easily avoided by gripping it around the hole, and not by the sides, so I see it as a non-issue. Overall, I like them, and they certainly look much better than the plastic versions. A very interesting attempt at cutting down on plastic waste, and I applaud that!

Handy tape dispenser.
I hate it when Iâm wrapping a gift and canât find the tape, now I just tuck this in with the wrapping paper. This is made of metal so I wouldnât let a child use it because edges are a little sharp.

Disappointing — No Clasp to Hold Together
This is a cute little tape dispenser but it’s not constructed in a way that makes it really usable.The only “connector” holding the two sides together is the tape cutter at the nose of it — there is no clasp or connector that keeps the two panels together at the back end. When you insert a roll of tape, you have to at least lightly separate the two sides to slide the tape in. However, there is nothing to then hold the two sides back together and so they don’t firmly hold the tape roll in place. The tape is inclined to slip or fall out unless you hold the sides together with both hands.A piece of tape on the back end of the tape holder does hold the two ends back together. So, if you want to tape your tape dispenser back together and that eyesore doesn’t bother you, well, I guess it works.I was just significantly disappointed in the construction. I expected more from a nationally-recognized, age-old brand.

The fact that this is a sturdy little holder of tape because it is metal like not plastic! This tape holder is pleasing and performs perfectly!! This set is a very good value for the money and are size is great for storing!!!!

Very flimsy
This tape dispenser did not work for me. The tape roll kept coming out of position unless I squeezed the dispenser with one hand to keep the tape roll in place and pulled out the tape with the other. Perhaps a tape core is missing from mine. As it is, it is completely useless and is too flimsy to keep the tape roll in place. Unfortunately, it is going into the landfill.
