New and improved 7-in-1 pliers? YES!! The one to ABSOLUTELY OWN.
I have used the Klein tools version of these combination pliers and they both have their pros and cons. Here’s how the OLD Southwire 5-in-1 multi tool pliers fared in my opinion:-Handles are a bit better: thicker and with more of a curve making them easier to grab.-The locking mechanism although helpful, can get in the way sometimes depending on how you hold the tool. It’s a welcomed feature compare to the spring loaded version on the Klein’s tool that’s always open and/or sticking out.-I have no use for a crimper for what I do currently, however it’s nice to have it just in case…-I’m particularly enjoying the bigger and curved cutter part of the tool. It eliminated another tool from my pouch and it performs better than Klein’s. One can cut a few more wires simultaneously therefore saving a little bit of time and effort.-I normally only use the AWG #10, #12, and #14 stripper tool and that’s exactly what this one brings. The Klein tools one has a few more smaller ones, but no AWG#10.-If you try twisting solid wires the jaws want to split apart because the nut/bolt combination and the thickness of the jaws are not as strong or thick as they need to be.***UPDATE: These newly improved 7-in-1 upgraded pliers S7N1HD are so much better than its predecessor!!- They took the consumers reviews seriously and made these pliers a lot more beefier and sturdier (allowing for properly twisting wires without the jaws wanting to split apart from each other).- IMPROVED that center bolt they had before and gave it one just like the linesman pliers, a flat one (which is stronger, gives better finish to the tool, and shows a degree of quality).- IMPROVED handles were changed a little, now less curved, slightly larger as well as getting more comfortable and easier to…, well handle! :)-IMPROVED/CHANGED: The lock was moved from the right side to the bottom. It’s out of the way and is a better/stronger design. It’s too early to tell if they’ll be effective there or just become a nuisance.-The one minor drawback I’ve found with these 7-in-1 pliers is the opening of the jaws not being as big as before, so you can’t really get bigger wire than say AWG#6 in there. I can live with that though.Overall, I’m very satisfied and happy so far with these pliers, and like it’s predecessor it has become a number one go-to tool in my pouch. Southwire has been the only company that replies to emails and consumers’ feedbacks, honors warranty exchanges on their tools, and as you can appreciate they do make improvements as requested and rather quickly.I do recommend these pliers to all my electricians co-workers.

Professional Grade – My ‘Go To’ Pliers
I have all of the single-use ‘uni-tasker’ pliers like strippers, crimpers, needle-nose pliers, lineman’s pliers, slip-joint pliers, etc. And they’re all great – seriously. But, I found myself wanting a single pair of ‘go-to’ pliers that if I could only grab one pair of pliers out of my tool bag to take with me under the house or up the ladder – which one would it be? For me, the Southwire S7N1HD 7-In-1 Multi-Tool Pliers are THAT pair of pliers. I love everything about these pliers. The Southwire video shows all the features very well. This is a professional grade tool. I don’t understand the 5-in-1 version for $5 more? For my use, I wanted the 6-32 and 8-32 bolt cutters. These come in real handy when replacing a ceiling light or ceiling fan and the screws are too long for the box. I definitely recommend these pliers as your one pair of Go To pliers. All of those other uni-tasker pliers are great. But when you’re up on a ladder, this is the one pair I want in my hands. Professional Grade. Would definitely buy again.

    Cool tool
I’ve had 3 pair of these. They are really handy, but the curved jaw cutters are NOT resilient. Over time, they get nicked from cutting copper wire. Not super durable, but hey… they do work, and are really handy.

Very useful but handle came loose within a week
I got these for doing some electrical renovation and they have mostly been great. I love the spring loaded handles and the lock since it means I can use it one handed and keep it in a pocket without it splaying open. The tool itself has held up well to quite a bit of abuse. However, the handle started coming loose within a week of use. At first it was just twisting in place but now if I pull on something too hard one of the handle sleeves starts to slide off. I will probably just glue it, but still a bit disappointing.

    Great multipurpose for electrical work.
Pros: cut, strip and crimp without switching tools. Also pretty good needle nose.Cons: hope you don’t need to strip smaller guage wires. I guess I could remove the spring and lock.

Great Multi tool for an every day use
My go to tool now. Probably brand too. The wire strippers and cutters are excellent. The handles are comfortable and slip resistant. The nose and crimpers of the pliers work great. Rated 4 stars for durability ONLY because I’ve had them less than a month but so far they’ve held up great. Some multis just try to cram any and every tool they can imagine into something so compact and small that most of the features end up obsolete or unusable but not with Southwire.Only thoughtful criticism is that I’d like to have a different lock type for keeping the pliers closed when not in use. It can accidentally get switched to unlock through the day.If you’re an at home electrician with projects in mind, these will get it done. Working in the field every day? These will keep you on your ladder and out of your tool bag.

    Perfect
Nice tool! Took the place of two others in my belt.Slick, sharp and purposeful.

    Good tool
Love these wire strippers so far, still getting used to the lock. But they cut and strip wires nicely. They cut 6-32 and 8-32 screws really easy. Also I love that the tips are needle nose, you can really get a grip on things with them.

esse alicate é top e vale apena comprar

These pliers are worth every penny. They are solid and comfortable. The curved cutter is sharp and perfect for Romex or smaller wires. The bolt shear is easy to use and solid. The wire strippers, I find, is where they shine. The wire sizes are exact and do not damage the wire when squeezing. The long nose are on the bigger size but work great for what is needed for electrical work. I would reorder these pliers anytime.
