Must buy for on sale price
Don’t buy full price. Quality on ratchets is great. Sockets feel a little loose and cheap. Skips a lot of 1/2 drive. Doesn’t come with universal joint in kit. I got it on sale for $100 so I am very satisfied. But I would not buy for $200. The $130 price tag is still a good deal. Comes with various hex and Torx and full Allen set. Wrenches skips alot of sizes and will need to be added to. Overall a must buy for $100 on sale but not worth the $200 price tag. If you can get it for $130 that’s still a decent deal.

When On Sale, Excellent Set for Price
We got it on the Black Friday sale in 2023 for a Christmas gift for one of our sons. It’s an excellent set. When on sale like that, it’s an amazing set for the price. If the prices is the same this year, we will buy 2 more for a couple of our other kids. I am even considering buying one for me as a replacement for some very old tools that I have had for 30 years and now have some missing sizes.

    Great Mechanic Set
The look and feel of these tools are great. This set was a great upgrade from the cheaper set I got when I began my new job. The feel of the ratchets are superb, letting you know the quality of these tool. Love the square body low profile design as well. It comes with more Allen wrenches than I need, but not going to complain about that. Do wish the 1/2″ sockets went up to 1″ like my old set, but that’s about all it is lacking for me. Highly recommend this set. Especially at 50% off!

    Perfect Weekend Warrior Mechanic Set
With an upcoming hub/bearing assembly swap on 3 of the 4 wheels and new brakes on all four, I needed a new ratchet as my 28-year-old Craftsman 3/8″ ratchet suffered a couple of rounded off teeth after years of use and abuse. Shopping around just for a ratchet, and wanting to also buy a 1/2″ ratchet, the prices pushed me to start looking at larger/bundled kits. While I didn’t really need all of the sockets and wrenches included in this kit, I couldn’t beat the price, especially with the price reduction on this kit, which by the way is still full price at Lowes. I couldn’t be happier with this kit, and it should well-serve any weekend warrior mechanic for years to come, as long as you don’t abuse the tools. I added some adapters to the kit to allow use of the 1/2″ drive with some of the 3/8″ sockets, as the length of the 1/2″ drive provides a little more leverage, finding that sweet spot when the 3/8″ drive isn’t enough and my 18″ breaker bar is too much/doesn’t fit in the tight spot. The plastic case, with the removeable trays/drawers keeps everything neat and tidy, easily identifying when something is missing. With my aging eyes, it was tough to see the raised numbering to identify the socket size, but this is easily addressed by coloring the raised numbering with a black Sharpie to make them contrast against the rest of the red tray. It was nice how the trays can be removed and stacked on top of the case for easy access. As mentioned above, I added adapters, but I also added a 6″ 3/8″ drive extension as the included extensions were too short to access the mounting bolts for the brake calipers and hub/bearing assemblies on my vehicle. The layout of the trays/drawers leaves plenty of space for these additions and probably a bit more. This kit paired with the Craftsman 1/2″ impact driver, and the added adapters and extension, I was able to tackle the job easily and save myself a ton of money instead of paying the dealership or some other garage to do this. The only thing needed for the job that wasn’t in this kit was a 32mm socket to remove the axel nuts, thankfully I was able to borrow one from a friend. Overall, this is a great kit and I highly recommend it, especially if it is $90 below regular price.

    Finish is Hit or Miss
The kit is worth the $100 I paid for it as it’s going to be used around the house and not the shop. The overall finish of the tools is a polished chrome, but it is far from dazzling bright. I found the 8mm open end wrench hadn’t been fully polished as can be seen in the first pic compared to its 10mm brother. The finish in that wrench was a rather dull gray. I took out my Fordham and some polishing compound on a felt buff to get it to where it should have been (second pic). Close inspection shows the tools all have some incomplete polishing of some sort. Does it hamper the function of the tool? No. Which is why I’ll keep the set.One other thing that is a usability issue. The open end wrenches can’t be removed from the tool box without first removing the drawer from the box. Not a big deal, but, really? I just want to pull the drawer out and get what I want with no hassle. If you can find this for what I paid, it’s a steal. If I was shopping for a good shop set, I definitely would find something with a little more quality if I was paying full price though as there are better tools in this price range.

All the sockets I’d need, Convenient!
I don’t do a ton of work with wrenches and sockets, but this single set was too good of a deal to pass up. The included case is very nice quality, far better than regular trays or blow-molded holders. Everything is laid out logically, and other than small bits at the very back, is easy to access. The included ratcheting tools are very nice quality, and don’t feel like cheap alternatives.
